Soldier Of Fortune CHORDS

Tune down a whole step or transpose -2 for original key.

[Verse]
Am G
I have often told you stories about the way
  Am Em
I lived the life of a drifter, waiting for the day
       Am G
When I take your hand and sing your songs then maybe you would say
     Am Em
Come lay with me and love me and I would surely stay

[Chorus]
C D Am
But I feel I'm growing older
F G C
And the songs that I have sung
E Am
Echo in the distance
         G C F
Like the sound of a windmill going round
  Dm Em Am
I guess I'll always be a soldier of fortune

[Verse]
Am G
Many times I've been a traveller who looked for something new
   Am Em
In days of old when nights were cold I wandered without you
      Am G
Those days I thought my eyes have seen you standing near
       Am Em
Though blindness is confusing, it shows that you're not here

[Chorus]
C D Am
But I feel I'm growing older
F G C
And the songs that I have sung
E Am
Echo in the distance
         G C F
Like the sound of a windmill going round
  Dm Em Am
I guess I'll always be a soldier of fortune

[Outro]
C G C F
I can hear the sound of a windmill going round
  Dm Em Am
I guess I'll always be a soldier of fortune
  Dm Em A
I guess I'll always be a soldier of fortune
